140 Words: For A Good Time, Call…

Lauren Miller and Ari Graynor

Written by Katie Anne Naylon and Lauren Miller, For a Good Time, Call is a sharp tongued comedy about two ‘frenemies’ who decide to run a phone sex line from their Manhattan apartment. Managing to steer clear of the predictable rom com template and mimicking what Bridesmaids did so brilliantly in 2011, this has more to offer than the average ‘chick-flick’. Lewd, crude yet sweet, and bolstered by a charming and enigmatic cast, For a Good Time, Call is a film about friendship, love and massive dildos.

A comparison to Bridesmaids may be slightly generous however there is enough here to warrant the nod. For a Good Time, Call is smart, laugh out loud funny, sexy and despite the silly ending, is an original and well executed film.

Just make sure you don’t watch this with your parents…

  1. Good review. It was nothing special, except very funny and surprisingly heartfelt as well.

  2. I liked the performances from the two leads, but the script is really bland and generic. Besides phone sex seems really out of date. They might as well be using dial up internet
